Night at the (children's) Museum

The San Jose
Children's Discovery Museum

What could be better than a visit to a children's museum? How about a visit after hours, when no one else is there- and you have the whole place to yourselves?

That's basically what we did tonight...

It so happens that Teenage Daughter and Young Son recently participated in a photography workshop for visually impaired students with renowned photographer, Bruce Hall. In addition to being an amazing photographer, Bruce just also happens to be legally blind. Some of Bruce's work is being displayed in Open Shutter- Photographs by Children & Youth who are Blind or Visually Impaired. Teenage Daughter and Young Son both have pieces being displayed as well. Tonight was the artist's reception and exhibit opening at the museum. So of course we went.

After the artist's reception, we had some time to re-visit some of our favorite activities in the museum. Since it was after hours, we had the place to ourselves. We spent the bulk of our time at the pinwall, which has been our hands-down favorite for years...

I see youngest son is still in the serious pose look.
