WFMW Backwards Edition... Sneaky Vegetables?!!

See this adorable young man? While cute, he is also wily. And he hates vegetables. Oh I manage to sneak onions into soups and sauces by pureeing them in the blender. And he will eat a salad consisting of lettuce and croutons with bleu cheese dressing. But that's about the extend of his veggie eating ways...

So my question for you is What is your best veggie sneaking secret? Do you hide veggies in casseroles? Smother them in cheese sauce? Or even grate them into cake batter? Share your secrets with me please!

And when you're done be sure to head over to Rocks in My Dryer where you can impart your wisdom to others on this WFMW Backwards Edition...

Chop up cauliflower and add it to mac & cheese. Kids can't tell the difference!

Two words: Deceptively Delicious. Go buy the cookbook by Jerry Seinfeld's wife, Jessica. Changed. My. Life. I put vegetables in literally EVERYTHING we eat now. I don't use her recipes every time, b/c after making a dozen or things in her book, I started seeing areas where I could sneak stuff in. I ran out of milk for the base of my chicken pot pie the other day and used pureed yams instead. NO JOKE - no one could tell the difference.

It's become a game with my husband. He'll be eating chili and say, "Hmmm...what's in here...spinach? Broccoli? I see a few green flecs...it's gotta be something green..."

Best money you'll ever spend.

I pureed spinach, strawberries, yogurt and a little sweetener and froze it into smoothie pops. Amazingly I could NOT taste the spinach. My kids are little so the color didn't bother them. Also, I've started putting pureed veggies in turkey burgers. YUM!

I second the cook book Deceptively Delicious! Definitely check it out. If you have a food processor that's pretty much all you need. Enjoy!

I hid veggies IN EVERYTHING! Pumpkin in french toast, zucchini in pancakes. Just puree and try it out. :-)

Yep - I've heard the same about that book.

Thanks for the tips over at It's All for the Best on night training. Very helpful stuff! :)

I've been making smoothies for my kids lately and throwing even veggies into that. Yesterday's smoothies had a little oj concentrate, carrots, honey, and ice. My son wouldn't eat his broccoli, so we ended up pureeing that in too. :)

I hate the texture of tomatoes so I fool MYSELF by pureeing (sp?) them into the lasagna.
