Strand test, schmand test...

Christy at After a Cup of Coffee or Two keeps talking about how much she loves LUSH products. After reading this post- I was especially intrigued by the shampoo bars. Not having to pack a potentially leaky bottle of shampoo on our next trip to Africa is hugely appealing, not to mention that anything that saves me space and weight in a suitcase is a good thing!

So after reading yet another reference to how much Christy loves their products- I went to their website to check it out. Intrigued, I clicked on the 'stores' link and discovered that there is a LUSH store only 15 minutes from my house. Since we needed to run some documents out to our accountant this morning (our taxes have become way too complicated since my mother in law passed away in 2006) and the mall was on the way back- we made a whole morning out of it.

We found the store, and I found a shampoo bar to try as well as one for Teenage Son... Then I picked up some bath bombs to put in the kids Easter baskets. And last, but not least- I decided to try their henna hair color. The process doesn't seem that difficult, but I'm a little intimidated anyway. I've colored my hair for years at home using the box stuff and actually do a pretty good job. But this stuff is totally different- so I'm going completely against my normal inclinations and-

I'm doing a strand test.

I never do the strand test. I'm more of a c'est la vie kind of girl. The strand test is totally for people who lack a sense of adventure. But I guess, for today at least, that is me as well...

So I have the henna on one section of hair now. It needs to sit for several hours, then I'll wash it out and well see how it looks. Check back later for the report!
