Dishin' it out...

Shannon at Rocks in my Dryer has posted an impromptu dish carnival. Since I can't even remember the last time I participated in a dish carnival- I decided to join in on the fun!

It's only recently that we've upgraded from plastic to real dinnerware. For years we ate off of these every day-

Yes that is in fact a make a plate. I have a full set of ten place settings produced during our many of parent participation preschool...

Last year that I realized that my children have grown to the point that I could invest in real dinnerware! Still wanting something sturdy, I shopped around and found this Corelle pattern called Tribal that I really like-

Last, but not least, this is my china pattern. I have 10 place settings (plus serving pieces) as well-

Even though my tastes have changed somewhat over our 17 years of marriage, I still love this pattern- I've always liked art deco. It's dishwasher safe, so it's fairly practical. During our 'make a plate' years this is what we pulled out when company came over. Now we use it for special dinners or holidays.

So now that I've shown you my family's finest, head on over to Shannon's to see what everyone else is eating off of... Or better yet- join in and show us what's in your cupboards!

Oh! Those white ones were our wedding china! I LOVED them! They didn't love me though...used them so much I broke a lot of the pieces (I'm a major clutz) and couldn't afford to replace them. I actually broke the lid to the butter dish on our one month wedding anniversary. LOL Thanks for sharing!

Your dishes are really fun. I still have the plate I made in preschool. I hope my little boy gets to make one too!

Thanks for stopping by my WFMW post. I also did the dishes one today.

Oh-I like the colors in the Corelle set. I also liked the picture of the kids being gassed. Very funny :)
