The saga of the baking stone

Before you read this post, let me just ask you to please ignore the dirty oven in this photo. Thank you. Please read on...

Note to future self regarding baking stones-

In the future make sure that you explain to children that Pampered Chef baking stones cannot be run through the dishwasher. Failure to heed this advice may result in said children doing the dishes while you are out with husband- and actually running said dishwasher through.

This action will result is said stone breaking into pieces when you use said stone to cook a tri-tip for dinner one week later.

Fortunately, said tri-tip will still be usable- unfortunately, said baking stone will not.

On the plus side, since the pan drippings all ended up in the bottom of my oven- I now have the motivation I needed to clean it! And I have a good excuse to go to a pampered chef party (if only I knew someone who was having one...)

All those yummy juices ... lost! Bummer! (That stone looks so sad. I'm sorry.)

John-Michael:
Yes the juices were lost, but I have to admit the tri tip turned out pretty well in spite of it!

Llama Momma:
Children loading the dishwasher was not the shock. Children actually running the dishwasher through- big shock!
