WFMW- keeping track of meds and doses...

I have a sinus infection right now and am taking antibiotics. While I'm good at remembering whether or not I've taken my medicine for the first couple of days- after that it all starts to run together and I can never remember what dose I'm on. Add to that two or three sick kids on meds and it can become really chaotic.

I tried marking on my calendar each time I (or one of the kids) took a dose, but it only worked if I was home at the time. That's when I got smart and starting marking it directly on the medicine bottle with a sharpie. Not only does this help me if we're out and about, but it also helps me track who has taken their medicine during those times when mulitiple family members are sick.

Once a day just gets a check mark...

If it is a medicine to be taken twice a day, I make x's (one slash for the first dose, a second slash for the second dose).

Three times a day requires hash marks...

So now I can just look at the bottle. If I'm supposed to take a ten day course, I know I'm done when I see ten check marks, x's, hash marks, etc. I hope this idea helps you- it definately works for me. Check out Shannon's blog for more Works For Me Wednesday tricks and tips...

How clever! I usually mark it on the calendar but this is easier! Great idea!

Okay, am i the only one who reads this and thinks, "Holy cow, we're getting old!"

Seriously.

We're having a virtual conversation about pill bottles. What will we talk about in another twenty years?
