Bow-legged and bunions!

Since several folks have emailed to ask me why J had knee surgery, I thought I would share this riveting piece of information with you all... Oh, OK- maybe it was just two people who asked, but play along- it'll be fun!

Anyway.

Back to J's knee... This was his 3rd knee surgery on this same knee. It seems that J's right leg is slightly bow-legged- not bow-legged enough that you could even notice it by looking, but definitely bow-legged enough to have an effect on how his knee wears. J is very athletic and especially loves to play soccer. Since his knee does not align properly, when he runs it causes problems. Specifically problems like broken cartilage and a torn meniscus. He does wear a special knee brace now when he is going to be doing a lot of walking or any running, but unfortunately by the time the problem was properly diagnosed and he got his brace- the damage had already been done. Eventually he needs a knee replacement, but would like to wait as long as possible before going that route.

So anyway- that's the story of J's knee. Stay tuned for the next riveting installment of FrazzMom family ailments when we'll reveal the back story behind FrazzMom's bunion!
